Day 2

I wish I had pictures folks but lots of other people have taken photos and so I'll borrow from them. Day 2 is over now. We had over a hundred kids though some counted 89. Not sure who is right but it seemed to lean more to the 100 number. One of my volunteers has a cold, one was totally discouraged and another group leader didn't show. Thankfully there were others to take his place. Please pray that my volunteers will keep coming and not lose heart. Some of them aren't sleeping well so that could use prayer too. With the increased number of kids its harder for them to be in control and in charge at all times (and some aren't super mature which doesn't help). The kids themselves are having a great time and overall it continues to be a lot of fun so I praise God for that. Again during story time the Gospel was shared so the kids are also hearing about Jesus which is what matters most. The smaller ones are kind of too little to get much out of it so I'm hoping to find someone to stay in the nursery with them tomorrow. Also still need a worship leader for Friday and Saturday. I think Milena or Erika will step up, we shall see. Today I was not as calm as yesterday. Only two of my leaders/volunteers actually showed up on time. The others all came but most were half an hour late. Guess I'm not quite on Brasilian time yet.

This morning I did some tutoring with a boy who is about 13 and is in grade 5. He can barely read and has even more difficulty with math. So much work so little time. In my meeting with Pastor Marcelo he told me I only have 40 more days here. Time has sure flown. Will be focusing on getting books catalogued in the library they are hoping to open soon and will do some more discipleship and mentoring. Next weekend I'm going to the beach! Really looking forward to that. Feeling quite tired and I have to lead a small group tonight and then go to a good-bye party. My roomate is leaving for her mission trip to Spain tomorrow. May have to skip that party, we'll see. Thanks for all your prayers!
